Lakers Lose Key Contributor

Caruso Signs 4-Year, $36.9 Million Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with Alex Caruso, a key role player and championship contributor. Caruso has signed a four-year, $36.9 million contract with the Chicago Bulls.

Caruso played a significant role in the Lakers' 2020 NBA championship victory, providing energy and defense off the bench. He averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game during the Lakers' championship run.

The Lakers are expected to replace Caruso with Dennis Schröder, who they acquired in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Schröder is a more experienced and offensively skilled player than Caruso, but he lacks Caruso's defensive versatility.
