Darren Waller Provides Update on Hamstring Injury

TIGHT END PLANS TO BE ON FIELD SUNDAY

Injury is Same as the One That Limited Waller in 2021

Darren Waller told reporters on Wednesday that the injured right hamstring he's dealing with early in the 2023 season is the same one that limited him to 11 games in 2021.

"It's the same injury," Waller said. "It's just a little bit of a different spot. It's not as severe as it was last year, but it's still something that I'm dealing with."

Waller said he plans to be on the field Sunday afternoon when the Las Vegas Raiders host the Denver Broncos. He said he's been getting treatment on the hamstring all week and is feeling good.

"I'm going to go out there and try to play," Waller said. "I'm not going to let this injury hold me back."

The Raiders were without Waller for most of Monday night's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was injured on the opening drive and did not return.

Waller is one of the most important players on the Raiders offense. He's a big target for quarterback Derek Carr and is a threat to score every time he touches the ball.

If Waller is able to play on Sunday, it would be a big boost for the Raiders. They are currently 1-3 and need to start winning games if they want to make the playoffs.
