Arlington, Texas - Timberview High School alum Chennedy Carter was selected 4th overall by the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the 2020 WNBA Draft.

Carter, who is 21 years old, is a 6'1" guard who played collegiately at Texas A&M. She was a three-time All-American and led the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament in each of her three seasons.

"I'm so excited to be joining the Atlanta Dream," Carter said. "I'm from Texas, so it's great to be able to stay close to home."

"Chennedy is a special player," Timberview High School head coach Kit Griffith said. "She has a great work ethic and is always willing to learn."

Carter is expected to make an immediate impact for the Dream. She is a talented scorer and playmaker who can also defend at a high level.

"I'm looking forward to getting to work with Chennedy," Dream head coach Nicki Collen said. "She's a great player and a great person."

The Dream will open the 2020 season on July 25th against the Indiana Fever.
