A New York District Attorney Refuse to Stop for Cops

An upstate New York district attorney refused to stop for cops when she was caught speeding -- and instead drove

The New York Post reported that Ulster County District Attorney Holley Carnright was pulled over by state troopers on the Thruway in the town of Ulster on Wednesday night.

Carnright was reportedly driving 92 mph in a 65 mph zone when she was pulled over. When the trooper asked her to stop, she allegedly refused and drove off.

The trooper pursued Carnright for about a mile before she finally pulled over. She was issued a ticket for speeding and was released.

Carnright has since apologized for her actions, saying she was "distracted" at the time and that she "should have pulled over immediately."

The incident has raised questions about Carnright's judgment and fitness for office. Some have called for her to resign, while others have said that she should be given a second chance.

Carnright is a Democrat who was elected to her first term in 2018. She is the first woman to serve as Ulster County District Attorney.
